2005 Dinner & Prizegiving
December 3rd

The penultimate event of the 2005 season was the eagerly awaited annual Dinner & Prizegiving. A different venue was chosen this year, The Kingswood Restaraunt at London Apprentice.Over 70 members and guests attended to eat and be entertained by the band, "The Gumbo Flyeres". Following on from the trend set last year the popular dress was formal, with men being asked to wear dinner Jackets or suits and the ladies to wear evening wear. The result produced a dazzling array of gentlemen and ladies looking far different than when dressed in their normal sailing gear. The Commodore, Ken Fobbester, went one further this year, wearing the full monty including tails, and very smart he looked. The Gumbo Flyers had everyone up and jigging around, they are a very lively group and this showed by the dance floor being full all the time ,No smooches just fast lively dancing. Theresa Phillips who last year provided extra cabaret with her dirty dancing skills, showed her versatility by accompanying the band, this time playing the spoons.

Below are some pictures taken on the night before ny batteries ran out.
