2009 Fitting Out Supper
March 28th

The weather outside was freezing or so it felt to me being daft enough to turn up to the Fitting Out Supper in my squash gear. Bare legs on a cold night is not a good idea. Fortunately the Clubhouse was a haven of warmth. The theme for the supper was “What you were wearing when the ship went down”. There were some very good interpretations of what was a very loose theme, and some of the different attires brought quite a few laughs. The supper was lasagne, cooked by Simon Pryce and a sweet of chocolate brownies with ice cream, made by Sarah and a very nice meal it turned out to be. They had over 40 to cater for and did so admirably. Supper was followed by a raffle and then drinks before we wended our way home. Most people being aware that the clocks were going forward and we would in consequence be losing an hour in the morning. Plus we all wanted to be fresh for the first race of the 2009 season. I managed to get a photograph of everybody who was there, but my apologies to those who I managed to capture with their eyes closed. The trouble is I can’t really tell until I download them later and by then it is too late to re-take.
