2011 Fitting Out Supper

The start of yet another sailing season was marked with the annual Fitting Out Supper. As the Club is now 60 years old it was decided that the night would be dedicated to the 60s, so people were asked to come dressed appropriately and the usual suspects certainly did, whereas some of us more reserved just turned up looking our usual boring selves. As per normal we were treated to a fine meal cooked tonight by Tony & Lynn, comprising chicken pasta with a sauce and then apple and blackberry crumble with custard for a sweet. Very, very tasty and very, very filling, then it was time for a 60s music quiz, with lots of familiar records from those far away days. I noticed lots of head scratching as the tune or group was recognised but some of the answers remained just too elusive for some. The attendance unfortunately was a little down on previous years, but that didn’t stop those that were there from enjoying themselves, with quite a few staying until after 23.00 despite the fact that we were all about to lose an hours sleep with the clocks set to go forward.
