2012 Christmas Party
December 19th

As a final curtain call for the 2012 season Anna organised a Christmas party at the Club on a very wet December night. After having the wettest summer on record, it appears that winter too wants to get in on the act and so far, this December is racing into the record books as the wettest December in memory. Fortunately, the Clubhouse, is perched high up on the cliffs, so we have very little chance of being flooded so once we had run the gauntlet of the journey from car park to Club house, carrying our plates of food, we could relax and enjoy the warm atmosphere in the seasonally decorated Clubhouse.

We were requested to bring a plate of food and those plus the Christmas cakes and mince pies that I know Anna & Liz, baked made a tremendous feast for us all. There was certainly no shortage of food and that complete with mulled wine plus other beverages from our well stocked bar kept us all well fed and watered.

Tonight we had a bit of a bonus as one of our newest members, Kristien, is very much a magician and he kept us amused for over half an hour with his card tricks and sleight of hand. There many gasps of amazement and looks of surprise as he managed to pull off trick after trick. We have had various types of entertainment over the years but I think tonight was the first time that we have ever had a magician and I think we all look forward to seeing him perform in the future.

Once again I wandered round with my camera taking photographs, unfortunately I don’t think I managed to get a picture of everyone as my memory card filled up quicker than I expected, when I attempted to film Kristien performing some of his magic.
