What a good night to have a Gourmet Blues & Jazz BBQ. Our social Secretaries Pete & Jan organised a terrific evening, on what has to be the one of the best evenings of the year so far. This year June has started to live up to its reputation of “Flaming June”. The last few days have produced a splendid heat wave which has coincided well with the BBQ night that was planned a few weeks ago. A very well attended evening by over 50 members and guests turned out for a fun night with food cooked and served by our well organised team of Janet, Pete & Shane.
Paddy brought along a large screen TV which was showing a Blues & Jazz concert, piped through the club Hi Fi system. The bar was doing great business, the food was terrific and members and guests really enjoyed themselves. The food was followed by a “friendly” picture quiz, which was won by Sue Rigby’s team. Ages present ranged from quite young to some not so young as the accompanying pictures below show. Unfortunately I didn't manage to capture everyone on my camera, the battery was fading fast, but I hope I have captured enough to give a taste of the evening.
