It was again decided to round off the social scene of the sailing club with a New Year's Eve
party. A general invite had gone out and persons attending were asked to bring a plate of food so that a DIY buffet was assembled.
Tony, the Social Secretary with the help of Dave Cobbett had decorated the clubhouse with dozens of coloured balloons and so from 8pm the club started to fill up with folk who were looking for some fun & nibbles to end the year.
Tony had decided that silly party games was the way to go. Now they might have been easy games, but seeing 12 club members running about the room with balloons between their knees brought uncontrolled laughter !! Who would have thought that teams sucking dried peas on straws into glasses could be exciting? but against the clock competition was fierce. Steve and Sharron Coello ended up Pea sucking champions. A short quiz of sorts took place . It was based on, " How old is? " Tony read out a list of famous ( and not so famous ) celebrities and you had to say or guess how old they were. Unfortunately guessing correctly wasn't very high on the agenda as the winning score out of 15 was 2 !! Mickey Mouse and Popeye were two on the list so it wasn't easy As Midnight approached and food consumed all gathered to raise a glass of Bubbly to welcome in 2016 and sing Auld Lang Syne.
