It was very pleasing, as a new venture, to see the evening so well attended and the Club house was packed out by happy members and friends, with ages running from very young to quite old. Unfortunately I am starting to class myself into the latter age group, and though my body is aging my heart is still quite young. Anyway enough of that; the evening was all about those who had competed successfully throughout the season and also act as a spur to others who aspire to win in 2016.

James had been down earlier in the day to prepare his table with all the cups and plaques ready for the big moment. Before that we all queued round the food table and took our selections back to our tables to eat. There was plenty of food for everyone. The dining was followed by a raffle with some very nice prizes for the lucky few.

After that it was down to the serious business of prize giving. Nigel & James presented a very slick power point presentation displaying the names of the various winners on the giant TV screen and in turn the winners were all called up to be presented with their cups and plaques commemorating their 2015 achievements. The biggest cheers were saved for the special awards, such as the “capsize cup” and the “cock up cup” and "Trolley Dolly of the Year".

The evening was another successful event, organised by our Social Secretary and his wife, Tony & Lynn Dunn.
