2016 Bowling
February 6th 2016

The bowling night was back by popular demand. Tony had a huge response for the 24 places available at St Ozzel Bowl and though it had rained all day it was not enough to deter the 24 keen bowlers who rocked up all raring to go.

Tony had divided us up into 3 teams and at 7.00pm for more than an hour, the air was filled with oohs and ahhs, screams of delight when all 10 pins went down and groans of despair when errant bowls disappeared down the side isles without striking anything at all. Pete Barnes caused the biggest laugh of the night when during his run up for one of his "throws" the bowl shot out of his hand backwards, causing several of us to take avoiding action. Just to show that this was no fluke he repeated it again later on.

Heading the leader board at the end of the session with a score of 126 was Ken, followed by Dave Preston and then Paddy. Leading lady for the evening was Lynn Dunn. I won’t humiliate anyone else with their score but mine wasn’t very good either.

The majority of us then walked down to Frankie & Benny’s to finish the evening off with a meal. And the rain had finally stopped. All in all it was a very successful evening thanks to our Social Secretary Tony Dunn.

I had my camera with me and took a few shots but the soft lightning and the fast movement at times contributed to some poor quality shots, my little point and shoot isn't quite up to serious photographs so I haven’t included them all, but some of the better ones are shown below.
