2017 Fitting Out Supper
March 25th

The 2017 season precursor – The Fitting out Supper, was held as per usual in the Clubhouse, where 31 diners sat down to a Chicken & Butternut squash lasagne. Veggie options and Gluten free options were also on offer for the healthy ones amongst us. This was followed by mixed fruit strudel & ice cream to finish off the meal. Both dishes were prepared by Tony & Lynn Dunn, who were ably assisted by Jan & Pete Barnes. The meal was served at 19.15 and we were greeted by the site of a decorated Clubhouse with tables and chairs all set out waiting for us. There was just enough time to buy suitable drinks from the bar before we sat down to enjoy our supper.

I must say from my perspective that the supper was absolutely gorgeous and I admit now that I went up for some seconds. However I wasn’t the only one!! For once the meal wasn’t followed by a quiz which gave ample time for us to have a good old chin wag with friends and catch up on the latest gossip. The evening just whizzed along and as we left the Clubhouse we were almost blown up the road with a strong easterly which we knew would more than likely prevent us taking to the water the next day for the first day of racing.

Now it’s confession time. I wandered round the Clubhouse taking photographs as usual but unfortunately my simple point and shoot camera had a setting in the wrong place and instead of nice pin sharp images I managed to end up with some pretty dire results. I was too vain to bring my glasses with me otherwise I may have sussed out what was wrong. Needless to say I have changed the camera settings and all is back to normal as you may notice on the latest blog entry. Some were so bad that I erased them and what you see is the best of the rest, but as I said they are of very poor quality. So please accept my apologies if you aren’t shown and also my apologies to those whose pictures are not very good. Hopefully better luck next time.

And now it’s on to the racing; We hope.

Thanks to Tony & Lynn for organising a very enjoyable evening.
