A fun night of a slightly different kind was arranged for Saturday 21st The order of the evening was to bring along a plate of food to be added to every body else’s contribution to hopefully produce a variety of food for every one to share. This was achieved without any problems and there was a veritable variety of food, enough for every one.
Tony promised a new game and he was as good as his word when we were all asked to troop outside in the very pleasant evening air. Well why not when we are in the middle of a heat wave; though a Cornish heat wave is not as oppressive as a London one.
The new game was a balancing one where a ball had to be balanced on a circular disc, supported by a handle. The person handling the disc then had to walk to a distant drum, round it and then back to the start line, whilst being timed. Some found it more difficult than others and the winning team was Jeremy & Suzanne’s.
Tony has asked me to pass on his thanks to those who stayed on after the social to clean up the Club House afterwards, and if by magic the Clubhouse was all set up ready for the following day’s sailing.
I don’t think that it comes as any surprise but thanks go to Colin who actually designed and made the ball balancing apparatus.
Below are some pictures taken of some of the competitors.
