Tasar/Scorpion Open
May 11th and 12th 2019

A sailing weekend combined with a BBQ social evening needs two ingredients,
Good weather and Good food.
Well for the Tasar and Scorpion sailors and friends Porthpean delivered both.
Numbers for the sailing weekend were a little on the low side, however those that turned up to sail in St Austell Bay were treated to some glorious early summer sunshine. 2 days of variable winds from very light to very fresh under blue skies was just what was needed for enjoyable sailing.
For the Saturday night Social a BBQ was the evening meal by choice. The sunshine continued and made for just the right atmosphere. Numbers were swelled by club members and guests.
To make a good 'Do' you need a good team so Here are a few names that need a mention. Andrew for flipping over the burgers on the hot coals, Jenny for pulling it altogether in the galley, Ken aided by Lynn running the bar. Other PSC members made up this list to make everything run smoothly.
The food consisted of BBQ meats and salad followed by cakes and then ice creams.
All this washed down with drinks from the bar.
Paddy had asked if I would bring the 'Tin Can Alley' structure for more fun after eating. So space was made in the clubhouse and the framework was made ready.
Teams were chosen and the competitive edge crept in. You would think that throwing soft balls at tin cans would be easy but that proved hard for some ! The game was played in the right spirit and with plenty of laughter. After 3 rounds the winning team was 'PSC Legends', Paddy, Nigel, James and Sarah won water bottles kindly donated by Rooster.
A good weekend of fun on and off the water is what makes a good open meeting and this one had all the boxes ticked.

Thanks to all who organised the sailing and manned the ribs on the water and to all the many involved on the land.
