Fish,Chips and guest speaker
22nd February 2020

The annual Fish & Chip evening is usually held in February to cheer up those winter blues. This years 'Do' was no exception but it was slightly different. Fish & Chips, yes. Afters was a guest speaker.
So after a few weeks taking orders for the food all was set for a good night at the club. I collected our huge order from our usual suppliers, Walkers chip shop on Truro Rd. Once at the club, with help from my team the food was dispatched to the hungry crowd. The fish & chips ( and other choices ) were soon devoured and the debris cleared away. So far a typical night.
I had arranged for our guest speaker, Mike Wharton, to give a talk on cruising the French canals. He has obviously spent time cruising France with his wife sheila as his story unfolded like a geography lesson. This was aided by pictures displayed on our club screen. He was very enthusiastic in his talk and we thank him for his contribution to a good night at Porthpean.
Paddy took some photos during the evening of the happy diners.
