Coronavirus, Covid-19, Those words sum up 2020.
We are now into 2021 and I want to start the year in a more positive frame of mind.
So, as Social Secretary I got my quiz books out and also delved into my grey matter to formulate a general knowledge / festive quiz.
I miss quiz nights at the sailing club but am pleased to see club members getting together via Zoom on my computer screen. I logged on just before 7.30pm and as the minutes ticked by, so more faces appeared before me.
As I was still in the festive mood from Christmas I had adorned my headphones with tinsel for the evening.
As Quizmaster I felt that I had to stand out among the faces before me.
I tried to get most folk involved by asking questions that connected to most of those taking part. So, a good mix to test all.
After 40 questions asked it was time to reveal the answers. As I started to give the answers I made a mistake and was soon corrected by the baying mob on my screen! (Sorry).
Results …
1st Peter & Jenny Popewith 33 points Congratulations.
2nd Dave Mackrell (solo)with 31 points well done.
3rd Pete & Jan Barneswith Jean 28 points
All others taking part put in respectable performances.
Another good evening of Porthpean Sailing Club coming together.
