Club Walk Veryan to Portloe

The second and hopefully for my legs the last Club walk for this season was a Steve Coello special. 12 intrepid members & 2 dogs met on a beautiful spring morning outside the Church at Veryan. The sky was cloudless, the sun streaming down, the church bells were ringing and a light easterly wind was blowing. All in all a perfect day for a walk. We set off up through the village, struck out across some fields until we came to the cliff path, which led us to some spectacular views across Veryan bay. This walk was not for the faint hearted or for anyone who didn't have a head for heights. Up hill and down dale we marched following the coastal path. After about an hour Steve pointed out a house in the distance. "Do you see that house?, Well thats's the Camoline house (spelling?) We reach the road after that and it's only 15 mins wealk to Portloe and the pub". 2 hours after we started we reached the pub, where drinks & food were served. After a leisurly lunch we headed up the road out of Portloe, across more fields until 30 mins later we arrived back at Veryan. The sun and wind had done their work on many of us, giving us red cheeks. This was a superb walk and I don't think we could have had any better weather. Thanks to Steve and Sharron Coello for coordinating and guiding us.

Below are some pictures taken by Jenny Pope during the outing. The originals are in very high resolution and would normally take a long time to download. I have compressed & shrunk them somewhat to allow for quicker loading. Click on any picture to enlarge.
