Fish & Chip Supper 3rd February 2007
Saturday February 3rd saw the first social event of 2007 take place, It was the annual Fish and Chip Supper. The evening was held at the sailing club and after Tony, the social secretary, had been out to collect the pre ordered food, some 45 members and guests tucked into their fare. More members came along afterwards to take part in a general knowledge quiz. Some of the answers given showed that quiz's can be a real good laugh (these were usually the wrong answers). The winning team comprising Chris& Sue Hazell, Lionel & Sue Rigby, Lyn Dunn & Janet the post mistress, were pleased to receive a bottle of wine for their tired brain cells.
Games Night 18th February 2007
A games evening was organised by Tony and Lynn for club members and guests,held in the clubhouse on a mild but wet winters evening. More table games were played this year by all those attending.The atmosphere quickly turned into a loud jovial mood as there were winners and loses at different tables. The competitive spirit of sailors continued throught the evening. A one frame knockout competion of Pool took place during the evening eventually won by Ken, the Commodore (mis spent youth ? ). All appeared to enjoy the evening and voiced the opinion that we should do more activities during the close season,and to that end a walk has been organised for next Sunday (25th)
