The first social of 2008 also proves to be one of the most popular social nights of the winter, the Fish & Chip Supper was well attended with over 60 Members & friends present, with ages ranging from 18 months to 74 years. A cold wet, night outside was in stark contrast to the warmth & gaiety in the Clubhouse. Equally impressive was the large number of youngsters present & all appearing to be enjoying themselves. Round about 20 past 8, the Fernley's F&C arrived in huge boxes, for the pre ordered feast. Afterwards we formed into teams for another of Tony Dunn’s quizzes, which certainly taxed the brain cells. Some of the questions seemed fairly easy but others were really hard. After all how many people know that the name for a male bear is a boar or the collective name for a group of kangaroos is a "mole"!! The winning team, quite aptly was the Commodores, which didn’t surprise me too much as Ken was in his team.
