Over 50 Members & friends turned out to herald in the 2007 season. No particualt theme this year, just fancy dress, unfortunately
not everybody dressed up for the occasion, but from those that did there were some stunning outfits as can be seen from
the pictures below. Tony & Lynn Dunn had spent the entire Saturday preparing the cordon bleu meal of sausage & mash, with mushy
peas, Yorkshire puddings and onion gravy. With apple strudel & ice cream to follow, it was certainly good value for the
money.
After the meal, Lionel presented one of his music quizes. 200 points was the targe, and for anyone who could achieve
that there was a first prize of a holiday for 2 in Mallorca, sponsored by the Commodore, Ken Fobbester. Fortunatey for Ken,
nobody managed to achieve the magic number. The closest team, winning on the night, was Peter Phillip's all stars, together
with his team of youth and maturity beating all other taems. We also had a Mothers's day raffle of a superb bouquet of flowers,
kindly ssponsored by Robin & Sheila (Andy's Flowers), won by Brian Phillips plus the draw for the 100 club.
All in all it was a most enjoyable evening and hopefully bodes well for the forthcoming season, dsepite the
following day's weather forecast of strong, cold, northely winds.
